Birth Time Rectification

Birth Time Rectification

4.5/5

Precise predictions follow accurate birth time.

In Vedic Astrology, precise time of birth and events are crucial to making accurate predictions. When the time itself is questionable or not confirmed, then the accuracy of predictions will be incorrect.

What is the role of Time of Birth?

To prepare a birth chart, exact planetary placements at the time of birth are important. The first block to prepare a chart is – birth date and year, which helps understand the planetary position. In Western Astrology, birth date is all you need to prepare a birth chart.

The next block is time of birth, which is most important. Birthplace helps to adjust the correct longitude and the difference between the geographical time and local time. The main motive of these two things is:

  • The accurate degree of the zodiac that was rising at your birth time and the accurate degree of your 10th house. A wrong birth time shifts the sign rising in the whole birth chart.
  • The precise planetary longitude to the last degree and minute to ensure that the planets are recorded in the accurate zodiac sign, divisional charts like D2, D9, D10, D30, & D60, and Nakshatra.

Why is exact time important?

All the Zodiac signs are 30 degrees; however, the signs under D9 change in 3.20 deg, D10 at 3 deg & D60 at ½ deg. A zodiac sign moves at an average of once every 2 hours; D9 in 14 mins, D 10 in 12 mins, D60 in 2 mins.

So, understand it in a simpler way – let’s say you have an approx. birth time that is off by 2 hours, which makes your whole chart incorrect. If your time is off by 15 minutes, it can lead to all charts being incorrect, in which Vedic Astrology works.

Times of birth that are recorded around the world are not always correct. In fact, the most precise records may have a delay of 2-5 minutes. For births recorded before 2000, the time may be off by 10-15 minutes.

Effects of wrong time

When the time of birth is incorrect, it affects the predictions/reading depending on the quantum of error.

A wrong birth time can lead to:

  • Incorrect ascendant – this changes the placement and effects of each planet. Astrologers predict a planet that will bring a positive/good outcome, but the result is opposite. This indicates that your ascendant is wrong.
  • Each 4-minute delay affects the prediction using Vimshottari Dasa by about 60 days. If your predictions are correct, but the timing is wrong, then this could be the cause.
  • If you have an incorrect Dasamsa or Navamsa, then despite the prediction/reading being correct, the quantum of bad or good prediction is wrong – which means your divisional charts are incorrect.
  • In partnerships or marriage, chart matching is very crucial, but with an incorrect birth time, the matching doesn’t work out, since your Mars or other planets are not properly located.

How is birth time rectification done?

For your birth time rectification, we need 5 important events of your life – you can give more, but a minimum of 5 are a must.

These events should be related to the date of marriage, first major job, childbirth, relocation to another country or city, purchase of a house, loss of a family member, major gains or losses, and any illness – it could be anything important in your life.

We will use your given events to reverse engineer your horoscope and prepare your Vimshottari dasa to get the closest exact birth time.
